From concept to market: developing the Oss Device
Virinco worked with Oss Norge to develop the electronics, embedded systems and test solution behind the Oss Device, a real-time energy monitor designed to give users detailed insight into their electricity consumption.

Turning an idea into a working product
Oss Norge brought Virinco into the project at an early stage, bringing the team on as a development partner. Together, the two teams set out a project plan built around Oss Norge's product vision and market goals for the Oss Device.

Electronics, embedded systems and test development
Virinco's contribution spanned electronic design, embedded systems and test development — the engineering work behind turning the Oss Device from a product concept into hardware ready for manufacturing.
As development approached its final stages, Virinco worked closely with Oss Norge to finalise the production process and oversee initial testing, checking precision and quality before the product moved into production.
Real-time energy monitoring
The Oss Device is a real-time energy monitor that connects to a household electricity meter, giving users insight into their electricity consumption from their mobile phone. Consumption data is captured every two seconds — detailed enough to support automated actions such as charging an electric vehicle during lower-cost periods.


From development to production
The Oss Device project shows Virinco's role across the product lifecycle — from early-stage design and embedded development through to production readiness and initial testing, working alongside Oss Norge at each stage.
That collaboration helped establish a foundation for the Oss Device's launch in Norway, with electronics, embedded systems and testing treated as part of one continuous development process.
